Description

A pristine George II shagreen document box with key. This decorative period box retains its faded rose silk interior, functioning lock and key. The canted lid is affixed with its original decorative brass Chippendale handle while the face is enhanced with a stylish brass lock plate and hasp. Elevated on small brass button feet, this treasure remains in remarkable condition for its age and serves well as a receptacle for prized objects. It once contained a carved Charles II silver decorated coconut cup.
