Cast bronze Mid 19th century, cast bronze billiard pocket in the form of a lions face. Its form and scale would suggest it was originally a corner pocket from a large table. These rarities incorporate a lead counter balanced ‘cup’, which presents the ball after they leave the table. In this case the lions jaw is hinged to open. Exceptional design, condition and patination. Presented on a bespoke custom forged iron stand to emphasise its sculptural quality and artistry.
