A set of four brass wall sconces copied from the 17th century examples inHaddon Hall, Derbyshire. The large circular pierced foliate back plates support twin scrolling candle branches and serpentine edged drip pans under candle sockets. Their design inspired by design elements 17th century andirons in Haddon Hall. Interest in this period was popularised in later Victorian times by Thomas Elsley in London and Edward Spencer at the Artificers Guild.
