A late 18th to early 19th century antique 'copper'. There heavy seamed and riveted helmet shaped basins were often used to heat water for a variety of purposes. This semi polished example has a make do patch on one of its sides. Great surface patination and colour, these objects from our past frequently find new applications as log bins or garden planters.
